Event Confirmation / Cancellation Policy

 

The Chef and I Catering will deliver to the client the goods and services as detailed in the Event Sheet and the following terms and conditions apply which should be read carefully:

  Payment Terms

Deposit

Unless otherwise stated, a deposit is required with event confirmation. The deposit is non-refundable.

Event Number Increases and Decreases

The Chef and I Catering will contact you 14 days prior to your event date, and request your final count of guest numbers. At this point, your final guest numbers will be locked in, and food orders will be placed, therefore the guest numbers cannot be decreased. 

Should your guest numbers increase after you have sent final confirmation, we would appreciate notification as early as possible. We will try and arrange the required additional food, equipment, packaging and service staff to meet the required increase of numbers. Short notice (less than 5 business days) of a significant increase of numbers may incur additional charges as supply and labour costs may vary. 

Corporate Clients:  The final number of guests for your event is requested 7 days prior to the function, after which an invoice will be generated for the balance of monies owing.

Balance of payment

The final number of guests for your event is requested 14 days prior to the function, after which an invoice will be generated for the balance of monies owing.  The balance must be remitted to our bank account using the reference detailed in our invoice no less than 5 days prior to the event date.  

Corporate Clients:  The final number of guests for your event is requested 7 days prior to the function, after which an invoice will be generated for the balance of monies owing. The balance must be remitted to our bank account using the reference detailed in our invoice no less than 30 days after the date stated on the invoice.  

 

 Event Clean Up and Rubbish Removal

The Chef and I Catering employees will clean the event premises as per the venue’s terms and conditions of hire / by the standard expected by the owner.  Rubbish will be left on-site in bins provided by the venue/owner unless The Chef and I Catering have advised otherwise, and fees may apply.

 

Employee Conduct

The Chef and I Catering maintain a code of conduct and ethics, and is serious about maintaining the highest standards of ethical behavior in all aspects of business.  A copy of our Employee Code of Conduct is available upon request.

 

Work Health and Safety

The Chef and I Catering recognises its moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees, customers, contractors and visitors.  This commitment extends to ensuring that the business operations do not place the local community at risk of injury, illness or property damage.

Copies of the following documents are available upon request:

  • Work, Health & Safety policy
  • Certificate of currency for public and product liability
  • Food safety certificates
  • Liquor licence

 

Date Changes and Cancellations

Should the date of the event change, The Chef and I Catering will make the best effort possible to accommodate the new date. The client understands that last minute changes can affect the quality of the final event and that these changes are not necessarily the fault of The Chef and I Catering.

In the event of a cancellation of an event, the client should notify The Chef and I Catering no later than fourteen (14)  business days prior to the planned date. Should the event be cancelled after that deadline, The Chef and I Catering  may collect the full fee owed as shown on the confirmed event as signed by the client.

Corporate Clients: In the event of a cancellation of an event, the client should notify The Chef and I Catering no later than seven (7)  business days prior to the planned date. Should the event be cancelled after that deadline, The Chef and I Catering  may collect the full fee owed as shown on the confirmed event as signed by the client.

 

Unforeseeable Circumstances

The Chef and I Catering can not be held responisble for any cancellation,  delay or amendments in event and food services resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control,  including but not limited to: acts of God;  equipment failure; delays in transport; inability to obtain fuel, materials or parts; war; acts of terrorism;  riots;  epidemics;  fire; floods; unusually severe weather conditions;  accidents; or other contingencies the non occurance of which was a basic assumption on which the event contract was made. 

In these cases the Chef and I Catering will communicate with the client and advise the circumstances causing the delay, amendment or cancellation of the event and food service agreement.
